ECPA Publishing University: Chicago, 11/4-11/6

EcpapubuIf you're in the publishing industry and plan to be in the Chicago area in early November you ought to consider attending the ECPA's Publishing University conference.  Jane Friedman, President and CEO of HarperCollins, kicks things off with a keynote presentation Sunday evening (11/4) entitled "Issues and Trends in Publishing Today."  That session should be worth the price of admission all by itself...but wait...there's more...

The event also offers tracks for eight different publishing disciplines: Technology, Rights Management, Editorial, Publicity, Sales, Marketing, Production and Design.  Here are other links to the full schedule and registration site.  They've also got a blog set up for the conference, which you can find here.  Speaking of blogs...

I'm presenting a keynote session on Monday, 11/5, entitled "Blogging from A to Z."  I'll do my best to give a summary of everything I've learned about the publishing blogosphere over the past 2-1/2 years...all in the timespan of one hour.  I'm also speaking at one of the technology sessions on web communities that same day.

Let me know if you plan to attend -- I'm hoping to connect with plenty of fellow publishing enthusiasts at this conference.
