Shore's 2007 Content Industry Outlook
I've mentioned Shore Communications before and I recommend you check out their blog; it's a great resource for content news aggregation and opinion. John Blossom also likes to open each year with content industry predictions and his 2007 lineup is all about what he calls "the six key A's": Audience, Aggregation, APIs, Alternatives, Acceleration and Asia.
The article is loaded with great insight. Two themes that come through in it, and ones that I'm seeing a lot more buzz about recently, are what could be called "the two key W's": wikis and widgets. While I think John is right with his assessment, it's these two areas that have captured my attention. Speaking of which, I'm only about halfway through Wikinomics, but so far I like what I've read. I'll have a more thorough review shortly.
