Big Publisher or Small Publisher: Who's the Better Employer?

Are you looking to start a publishing career or do you know someone who is?  One of the more common questions publishing job-seekers ask is, "Which is better...working for a large publisher or a small one?"  There's no simple, right or wrong answer to this, of course.  And due to the fact that I've only worked for larger publishers in my career, I'm not the best person to ask.

But, a former colleague of mine has experience in both camps and took the time to research this for us: Lori Cates Hand and I used to work together at Macmillan and now she's with JIST.  In a recent blog post she polled some of her current coworkers to gather their thoughts on working at big vs. small publishers.  It's an interesting summary.
